How does Bifidobacterium breve help a baby with colic?
Supplementing an infant’s diet with Bifidobacterium breve CECT7263 may have a “faster and more complete effect than similar medications” in preventing colic, a new clinical trial has found.
The probiotic strain Bifidobacterium breve, isolated from breast milk, has a faster and more complete effect on infantile colic than simethicone. The use of Bifidobacterium breve significantly reduces the daily crying time of infants diagnosed with infantile colic from the first week of use.
These results were observed in infants who were fed breast milk or infant formula. A better night’s sleep was also observed, as well as an improved mood in the parents.
Furthermore, the study participants suffered no adverse side effects, and the probiotic was well tolerated. This demonstrates that Bifidobacterium breve is a safe and effective treatment for infant colic, producing a faster and more complete effect than simethicone, another infant colic drug.
How do probiotics help babies with gas?
Since a child’s digestive system is still in its infancy, it does not have all the beneficial flora needed to thoroughly digest food.
Probiotics help balance this deficiency by adding beneficial bacterial flora to the gut. As healthy bacteria grow over time, they aid the digestive process and help the intestines secrete enzymes. This can reduce gas and discomfort in babies.
The three species of beneficial bacteria in the composition—lactic acid bacteria: Lactobacillus rhamnosus (GG™) and Lactobacillus reuteri (LRE02™), and bifido bacteria: Bifidobacterium breve (BR03™)—are among the most studied bacterial species in the world. They were selected based on their proven health benefits demonstrated in scientific studies.
The composition of this product was chosen based on extensive research and clinical trials. Each ingredient was selected for its proven effectiveness in promoting digestive health, balancing the gut microbiota, and supporting overall well-being. The inclusion of specific probiotic strains, such as Bifidobacterium breve, was based on their demonstrated benefits in reducing infant colic, improving digestion, and enhancing immune function. Additionally, the formulation ensures safety and efficacy, with components that are well-tolerated and free from common allergens.
Recommended dose:
– Infants from birth and children up to 12 years of age: 0.5 ml per day (1 dose)
– Children from 12 years and adults: 0.5 ml twice a day (2 doses) or as directed by a doctor
The product comes with a measuring pipette marked for one dose – 0.5 ml.
Before use:
– Always shake the bottle to distribute the bacteria evenly.
Types of use:
– Infants: Drop directly into the mouth or onto a pacifier.
– Children and adults: Drip on a spoon or add to food. Do not take with hot food or drink as this may reduce the effectiveness of the bacteria.
Storage:
– After opening, store at room temperature and use within 4 weeks.
– Keep away from children.
Use with antibiotics:
– Take the drops throughout the entire course of antibiotics and for a week after it ends.
– Use the drops about 3 hours after taking antibiotics.
Important information:
